Session announcement: Recruitment and retention in home care

Session announcement: Recruitment and retention in home care
Join home care leaders from BelleVie and Walfinch along with recruitment expert Neil Eastwood to learn how to look after your people and strengthen your remote team.

Recruitment and retention are well-known challenges across the social care sector, but discussions often focus on what managers of residential care homes can do to improve – leaving home care out of the equation.

Yet home care faces challenges just like residential care does – in fact, the barriers may even be bigger, as creating a team spirit – one of the factors in retention – in a team that works remotely can be difficult.

With that in mind, we’ve designed this session to focus on the challenges and opportunities that are specific to home care, or domiciliary care. This is a unique sub-sector of care, and it requires a unique approach.

Join this session to hear from the following care leaders and recruitment experts:

  • Trudie Fell, chief executive and co-founder, BelleVie
  • Julie Farrow, senior franchise support manager, BelleVie
  • Amrit Dhaliwal, chief executive, BelleVie
  • Catherine Corner, regional wellbeing lead for the North East, Walfinch
  • Neil Eastwood, author of care recruitment bible Saving Social Care and founder of the King’s Award-winning app Care Friends

BelleVie is an innovative home care company based in Oxfordshire, with incredibly high job satisfaction among its carers. Employees manage their own rotas within teams, using BelleVie’s proprietary technology, and home visits aren’t time-capped, to allow carers to look after their clients holistically.

Walfinch is a home care franchise group that operates across England, which allows its clients to design their own care, ranging from a few hours a week or temporary help to 24/7 live-in care. With a strong focus on training, Walfinch’s carers are highly valued by their managers, which contributes to their high retention rate.

Join our panel to:

  • Discuss the specific challenges that come with building a team spirit when your team works remotely
  • Learn how to make your central office a hub where carers enjoy dropping in
  • Hear how to attract the right kind of people to your business, who align with your values and will be an asset to your team
